I have presented a presentation about kids influencers and another topic was covered in class.

I need to write a response letter for the two topics due tonight and its the first time for me writing this and i need some help.

  • 11 point Times New Roman
  • 1 inch margins
  • The following subheadings: Implications for Individual Consumers, Implications for Society, Implications for the Advertising Industry
  • Your assessment for each of these areas for each topic
  • References – organize your references by topic (which is noted with a heading)

What Impacts My Evaluation of Your Paper

  • Your thought content is the most important. I expect you to “think deeply” in your responses.
  • You should clearly respond to and cite the required journal articles for each of the two topics.
  • Not sourcing the information in your answer results in a lower evaluation. The assignment specified: Your assessment should include relevant information/arguments /citations for your position.

By definition, this means that when you refer to secondary information in your response you must provide the companion citation. Simply including the references at the end does not reflect appropriate sourcing of what you wrote.

  • Proofing Issues results in a lower evaluation.
  • Not having your commentary under the correct heading, i.e. having implications for one heading that belongs under another, results in a lower evaluation.

Consumers may feel vulnerable for having their information and interactions used to adapt the actions of the AI influencer in order to more effectively advertise towards them as a consumer– not a genuine interaction. NCAA Athletes With the new NIL policy that passed in July, NCAA athletes have a new found influencer status. They can now profit off of their name, image, and likeness on the college level. Just as Pro athletes profit off of their names in their own respective sports. With the new found fame each player will gain, they will also gain a following from their fan bases. Richard Southall, who directs the College Sport Research Institute at South Carolina, called college athletes what they have really become. “Gig workers”. No different from Uber and Lyft drivers. Instacart shoppers. Freelancers. From Mom and Pop shops, to big chains, NCAA athletes are taking full advantage of their new found freedoms of name, image and likeness. Cancel Culture & Implications “Cancel culture is a phenomenon where individuals transgressing norms are called out and ostracised on social media and other venues by members of the public.” “Those who were cancelled have breached the line of social acceptability, according to an unmarked and entirely ambiguous norm of today’s social media climate. “It is an act of withdrawing from someone whose expression – whether political, artistic, or otherwise – was once welcome or at least tolerated, but no longer is” (Bromwich, 2018). In addition, it is a tactic of “trying to erase someone from public discourse – either through publicly shaming, deplatforming, or demanding that they be fired” (Beiner, 2020). There is no clear-cut parameter that someone merits cancellation. ” Biggest influencers cancelled in 2021: Chrissy Teigen, DaBaby, David Dobrik, James Charles, Olivia Jade, and Lil Nas X.
